Thinking About Your Next Move?

We acquire established driving schools and help owners step back, exit, or join a larger group, while protecting the brand and instructors they have built.

A Quiet, Confidential Conversation

If you own a driving school and you are starting to think about your next move, we are always open to a confidential, no-pressure chat. You do not need to be ready to sell, you do not need to commit to anything, and you do not need to put your business on the market to talk with us.

Some owners reach out because they are thinking about stepping back. Some are exploring what an exit might look like in a year or two. Some just want to understand their options. Whatever the reason, the first conversation is private, and it stays that way.

We Understand the Industry

TIC is not a generic buyer. We operate driving schools ourselves, every day, across multiple brands. That means when you talk to us, you are talking to people who already know the work.

We understand instructors and how they are paid. We understand bookings, test demand, busy suburbs, quiet weeks, cancellations, dual-control vehicles, pricing pressure, and what compliance actually looks like in practice. We know the difference between a good driving school and a list of instructors with a logo on top. And we understand the emotional side of letting go of a business you have built over many years.

Who We Work With

We talk to driving school owners who are:

  • Considering retirement and thinking about a sensible exit.
  • Wanting to reduce the day-to-day admin load and step back from the business.
  • Looking for support to grow, with backing and shared systems.
  • Proud of a strong local brand and looking for the right home for it.
  • Focused on protecting their instructors and learners through any change.
  • Unsure what the next step looks like, and open to a confidential discussion.

Why TIC

  • We understand the industry. We are operators, not financial buyers parachuting in from outside.
  • We already operate multiple driving school brands. Our group is Queensland-based today, with established schools across Queensland and the ACT, so we know what it takes to keep them running. Further national growth is in our plans.
  • We have existing systems and admin infrastructure. Bookings, customer service, instructor support, marketing, compliance: the backbone is already in place.
  • We support instructors and customers through transition. Continuity is the priority, not disruption.
  • We preserve trusted local brands. The schools we acquire keep their names, their identity, and the trust they have built.
  • We are building for the long term. We are not here to flip businesses; we are here to grow a driver training group over years.

What We Look For

Every driving school is different, but the businesses we tend to talk with most share a few common traits:

  • An established driving school with a real operating history.
  • A good local reputation, built over years and known in the community.
  • A strong instructor base, with people who care about the work they do.
  • Consistent enquiry flow from learners, agencies, and local referrals.
  • Reliable systems in place, or a clear opportunity to lift them with our support.
  • An owner who cares about what happens next: the team, the brand, the learners.
  • Real opportunity for growth with the right backing and systems behind it.

Preserving Brands

TIC does not erase the brands we acquire. We believe good local driving schools belong to the communities they serve. The name, the reputation, the customer trust, the history: these are what make a school worth acquiring in the first place. Stripping them away would defeat the point.

What we improve is what sits behind the brand: the admin, the systems, the marketing, the compliance, the instructor support. The business gets stronger; the identity stays intact.

Supporting Instructors Through Transition

If you own a driving school, you are probably more worried about your instructors than about the deal itself. That is the right thing to be worried about.

When we step in, our priorities are practical:

  • Clear, early communication with instructors, not surprises.
  • Continuity of bookings, and in most cases overflow work from our other group brands.
  • Admin support so instructors spend less time on paperwork and more time teaching.
  • Reliable payment, on time, every time.
  • Brand stability so customers and learners see the same school they trusted before.
  • Onboarding into our group systems at a sensible pace, with support along the way.
  • Respect for the relationships you and your team have already built.

Flexible Approach

Different owners have different goals. We have worked through straight purchases, structured transitions, owner-staying-involved arrangements, and other approaches. The right structure depends on the conversation, what you want from the next chapter, and what suits the business. We do not start with a fixed template; we start by listening.

Long-Term Stewardship

We are not in the business of buying schools to flip them. We are building a long-term driver training group, brand by brand, instructor by instructor. The decisions we make at the table are designed to hold up in five and ten years, not five and ten weeks.

That is why we take time over the conversation. The schools we acquire become part of how we operate, and we want to get the fit right.

How the Process Works

Every conversation is different, but the path tends to follow five steps.

  1. 1

    Confidential conversation

A private, no-obligation chat. You tell us about the business, we listen, and nothing leaves the room.

  2. 2

Understand the business and your goals

We learn how the school operates, what the team looks like, and what you want the next chapter to look like for you.

  3. 3

    Explore possible structure

We talk through approaches that might suit you, the business, and your instructors. No pressure, no fixed template.

  4. 4

    Agree on a transition plan

Once a direction is clear, we map out a plan covering people, customers, brand, systems, and timing.

  5. 5

    Support the handover

We back the transition with admin support, instructor onboarding, and communication so customers and learners see continuity.

Seller FAQ

Is the process confidential?
Yes. Every conversation we have with a driving school owner is private. Nothing is shared outside our team unless and until you choose to take things further.
Will my brand name change?
No. We acquire driving schools because of what they have built, and that includes the brand. Schools we acquire keep their names, their identity, and the trust they have earned in their community.
What happens to my staff?
Instructor and staff continuity is a priority. We work to retain existing teams, support them through any change, and make sure communication is clear and early. In most cases, instructors also gain access to overflow work from other group brands.
What if I'm not ready yet?
Plenty of owners we talk to are not ready to sell. They are thinking ahead, exploring options, or just curious about what an exit might look like in a year or two. That is a normal first conversation for us.
Do I have to commit to anything to start a conversation?
No. The first conversation is private, no-pressure, and carries no obligation. You can take the conversation as far as you want, or step away at any point.
How long does the process take?
It depends on the business and on what you want from the transition. Some conversations move quickly, others take many months, especially where an owner wants a gradual handover. We are comfortable working at the pace that suits the school.
Do I need to stay involved after a sale?
That is your choice. Some owners stay on for a defined handover period, some take an advisory role, and some prefer a clean exit. We can talk through what works.
