About TIC Group

A driver training group built by people who run driving schools, not by people who only read about them.

Who We Are

TIC was built by people who understand the driver training industry from the inside. We started out operating driving schools, and we still do. Everything we have built since has grown from that base: shared admin, shared systems, shared support, and a group of trusted brands operating across Queensland and the ACT, with further national growth in our plans.

The Instructor College is a driver training group. We acquire established driving schools, we operate them as part of our group, and we build practical services for the wider industry. We know what it takes to run a driving school because we do it every day.

Our Story

TIC has grown from operating driving schools into managing a broader group of brands and services. Each step was practical, not theoretical: when we saw something that needed fixing in how a school was run, we built the system, the team, or the process to fix it. Over time, that work became the backbone for the brands we now operate.

Today the group includes several established driving school brands, our industry service Driving Instructor Car Hire, and a small central team supporting bookings, admin, marketing, instructor onboarding, and compliance across all of them. We are focused on quality driver instruction, strong systems, professional instructors, and long-term industry growth.

Our Model: Acquire. Operate. Support.

01

Acquire

We acquire established driving schools and help owners step back with care, protecting the brand, the team, and the trust they have built.

02

Operate

We operate our group brands ourselves: bookings, admin, marketing, compliance, instructor support. Instructors focus on teaching, owners step back from the day-to-day.

03

Support

We build practical services for instructors and driving school operators across the wider industry. Driving Instructor Car Hire is our first.

Behind the brands

Most of what TIC does day to day sits behind the brands rather than in front of them. The central team runs the admin, customer support, and instructor support for every school in the group, so each brand keeps a strong local identity while sharing the workload that quietly eats an owner's week. Bookings, enquiries, follow-ups, agency communication, issue resolution, instructor questions: these come to one place and get handled by people who know the industry.

The booking and scheduling systems sit underneath that. Online bookings, learner accounts, package management, instructor diaries, reminders, and the small everyday automations that keep a busy week from falling apart. We invest in this layer because it makes the difference between an instructor having a clean diary and an instructor losing an hour a day on admin.

Marketing and lead flow sit alongside it. We run the websites, the search presence, the suburb pages, the conversion work, and the brand positioning for the group brands. Owners stay close to their community and their instructors; the central team carries the bulk of the marketing load.

Compliance and risk management is the other quiet half of the work. Working-with-children clearances, privacy and data handling, incident reporting, child safety policies, QFCC-aligned procedures, instructor conduct expectations, and the operating procedures that keep a school on the right side of every requirement. It is becoming more important every year, and a small group team is much better placed to keep it tight than a busy owner-operator working alone.

Agency and funded work runs through the group as well. We coordinate lesson delivery for employment agencies, charities, support coordinators, government-funded programs, and youth and NDIS-related providers, with centralised invoicing and a single point of contact across multiple instructors and locations.

And underneath all of that is the slow, steady work of business improvement. Pricing, booking conversion, customer experience, instructor utilisation, reporting, sensible use of automation. We are not just running the brands; we are working to make them stronger every quarter.

What We Believe

Good driving schools need more than just leads. They need admin, systems, structure, compliance, marketing, and real support behind the scenes. A great instructor and a good local reputation are the heart of a school, but on their own they are not enough to keep the business running smoothly week after week.

The schools that thrive over time are the ones with a proper operating backbone. Building that backbone is what we do, and it is why owners and instructors come to us.

Our Values

  • Quality. We hold ourselves, and the brands we operate, to high standards for instruction, admin, and customer experience.
  • Continuity. When we acquire a driving school, we protect the brand, the instructors, the customers, and the trust they have built together.
  • Transparency. We operate openly with owners, instructors, agencies, and learners. We say what we mean.
  • Long-term thinking. We are building over years, not running a campaign for a quarter. Every decision is made with that horizon in mind.
  • Practical support. We help the schools and instructors in our group with the work that actually slows them down: admin, bookings, marketing, compliance.
